Nazareth Home Receives 2022 Customer Experience Award from Pinnacle Quality Insight

Nazareth Home Receives 2022 Customer Experience Award from Pinnacle Quality Insight

Nazareth Home has received Pinnacle Quality Insight’s 2022 Customer Experience AwardTM, qualifying in the category of skilled nursing facility. The award signifies Nazareth Home’s continued dedication to providing best-in-class healthcare services for seniors.

The customer satisfaction report by Pinnacle Quality Insight is designed to measure residents’ satisfaction with regard to their quality of care and quality of life.

The Highlands and Clifton Campuses both received awards for skilled care. The Highlands Campus was also awarded for its personal care program. To qualify for the Pinnacle Customer Experience Award™, Nazareth Home had to score in the top 15 percent of the nation across a 12-month average. Out of 2,700 care providers and 150,000 customer interviews, only those facilities that scored in the 85th percentile or higher received an award.

President/CEO of Nazareth Home, Mary Haynes, described receiving this recognition as a great honor, stating that the organization’s priority is keeping the residents safe, healthy and engaged.

“We are thrilled to be awarded for providing an environment that engages employees to deliver award-winning care where elders can thrive, and families can feel confident their loved one is receiving the best care,” said Haynes. “We are making our mark on the national scale by providing exceptional person-centered care to the elders we serve at both our locations.”

Throughout its long history of serving the community, Nazareth Home has placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that the individual needs of every resident are met. A sampling of Nazareth Home’s residents and their families participated in monthly telephone interviews that included open-ended questions, as well as opportunities to rate Nazareth Home in specific categories. Every month, Nazareth Home gathers its real-time survey results to gain a better understanding of the residents’ needs and make enhancements when necessary.

Volunteer at Nazareth Home

Volunteer at Nazareth Home

It takes a village, and that is most certainly the case at Nazareth Home. Our campuses thrive because of the selflessness and service of our volunteers. These special people help us provide the person-centered care we are known and loved for at both locations.

For the past year and a half, due to COVID-19, we had to halt the visits from our volunteers. However, we are finally able to welcome them back in a limited quantity. Our staff, elders and families have missed them and are happy to have their smiling faces back among our halls. Their contributions and commitments are invaluable, as they bring a whole extra layer of companionship and relationship opportunities for the elders.

At Nazareth Home, we offer multiple options for people to serve. We have volunteers for liturgical ministries who assist with our daily Mass. Liturgy volunteers are Eucharistic Ministers that help distribute communion or are lectors who proclaim the Word of God at Mass. They also assist with bringing the elders to and from Mass. Most of these volunteers spend about an hour per week at Nazareth Home.

Volunteers can also help transfer elders to and from activities, write cards or letters, craft, play games or assist at an event. They also help elders use technology such as an iPad or our It’s Never 2 Late (iN2L) platform.

The activities volunteers come in as needed, and the time spent is as little or as much as they would like. It could be for an hour here or there or an entire afternoon a few days a week.

Currently, all volunteers must commit to taking a COVID-19 test and provide proof of vaccine.

Our volunteers are the backbone of many of the programs we offer at Nazareth Home. They’re our village. We are blessed to have them serve at Nazareth Home and are thrilled to welcome them back to our communities.

Nazareth Homes Foundation is committed to excellence in care

Nazareth Homes Foundation is committed to excellence in care

Nazareth Home is a nonprofit long-term care facility offering skilled, personal and memory care, along with inpatient and outpatient rehab. Being a nonprofit means we do not have a corporate owner or board of directors taking profits from our operation. However, it also means that we can’t pull resources from a corporate owner for improvements, updates or new technology. For this reason, we created the Nazareth Homes Foundation in 2020.

The Foundation has several focus areas for this upcoming year:

    • Workforce Development
    • Community Worship
    • Community Hospitality
    • Campus Funds
    • Quality of Life and Benevolent Fund

Through the support of our donors last year, we awarded seven employee scholarships to staff working to grow their skillset; began Nazareth Home Forward, an apprenticeship program for employees; and completed several quality of life programs at both campuses.

Nazareth Home is committed to continuing our level of excellence and providing person-centered care. We are able to do this through the donations and gifts we receive from those impacted by and committed to our work.

We hope as you consider your charitable giving, estate giving and memory giving, you will consider Nazareth Homes Foundation. To learn more, visit nazhome.org/giving.

Help Nazareth Home purchase a wheelchair-accessible van

Give for Good Louisville is right around the corner, and we would love to have your help supporting Nazareth Home and the elders who live here. This year we are raising funds to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van to be used at both campuses.

Our mission is always to provide the best possible care for the elders. Part of this care is making sure they get to necessary appointments or enjoy outings around the community. Whether for doctor’s visits, a stop at their favorite ice cream shop, or a simple drive to see the beauty of our city, a van will make these trips more effortless and accommodating for all our residents. Wheelchair-accessible vans are easy for passengers to sit comfortably in their wheelchair, have additional seating for those who do not use a wheelchair and provide a versatile and safe environment for travel.

This new van will allow us to have additional transportation in a smaller and more comfortable space. While our current bus is perfect for large group outings, having a smaller vehicle will be more convenient when fewer elders need a ride.

On Friday, September 17, you can help support the elders at Nazareth Home. The Community Foundation of Louisville will be hosting its Give for Good Louisville campaign to benefit nonprofit organizations doing great work in our community.

Nazareth Home is excited to be a part of this 24-hour online giving event, which creates an incredible opportunity for your gifts to have a more significant impact through match dollars and prize money contributed by the Community Foundation of Louisville and their generous supporting sponsors.

Help Nazareth Home reach our goal of $65,000 by donating through Give for Good. On September 17, starting at 12 a.m. through 11:59 p.m., visit our Give for Good Louisville donation page and donate.
